@TheNewsOwl Who are these people (22% of Black voters) that would vote for Trump if the election were held today?

Is anyone here dissatisfied with the Presidency of Biden? If so, why? I am curious about where the low approval for Biden is coming from heading into 2024?

@BrentSullivan Language matters. They did not vote to "overturn an election". They voted against certifying the electoral count. If they had won that vote, the decision would have been thrown down to the states. We can speculate on how that would turn out, but it doesn't matter now. Voting is their job. They voted. They are allowed to do that. Dozens, however did shadier shit. They are in peril.

@BrentSullivan A vote alone is not necessarily participation in an insurrection. But there are quite a few that were more active in the steal. Some face talks at the Jan 6th event to rile the crowd. Others were involved in the voting machine data scandal, or were involved in the false electors scheme. They are at risk now.

@MrSteve I'll take the cash. My credit is already outstanding, and I can out-invest the delta on the weekly payout.

@BrentSullivan It is still a significant ruling. The judge ruled that there was an insurrection, and while the President wasn't prosecutable by virtue of not being "an officer" of the gov't, many, many congressmen and lower level gov't officials are "officers" of the gov't. Now that this has been acknowledged as an insurrection, they can be disqualified from running for office again.

@GeezerWench Yeah. The kid picked the bright ones. It's the electric pickup, and he thought the bright blue looked like lightning.

@corlin Village, coastal rural environment. Mostly highway.

Preference for Wheels (by letter)

Getting new wheels for the truck. Looking for opinions! Which do you like most? Poll in reply post...

@peeppeepcircus I wonder how long it will take this thing to offset the carbon footprint associated with it's own construction...

@Paul13 How long would the gas last in a tank if it was only used, say once a year. I think BEV is the way to go. The F150 Lightning looks perfect to me.

@JasonCrocker616 Regular voters won't get stricken from the rolls!

@NorthernInvader

Ouch! We need this kind of honest communication to become the norm from scientists who are beginning to grasp how bad things really are...

@cassandra17lina Governments and such will do what they do, but individuals can make a difference. We all need to invest our personal wealth in ways that, at the very least, doesn't further the problem. The irony is that these same scientists likely drive gas cars and fly a half dozen time a year for conferences that don't actually need to attend in person. The path forward is crystal clear; the motivation of boomers etc. to walk it is lacking.

Scientists are learning to communicate less modestly. This is a good thing. The situation is really bad now, and we need to motivate action.

@NorthernInvader Batteries don't have ranges. Cars do. Aerodynamics, rolling resistance, weight: these things affect range. Take this spiffy with a healthy dose of skepticism. Solid state batteries will be a player in a few years, but these claims smack of BS.
