Had to move plants tonight. Family members were recognizing them by their names...Mother Spider, Warner, Keanu Leaves, etc.

I realized I talk about them often enough that people know who they are when they do see them.

My sister-in-law invited me to join her for her Solstice ritual. Her tradition and practices are different from mine, and it meant a lot to me to be invited to share that with her. #CoSoPagans

Things I never thought yarncrafts would lead me to say, but here we are:

It wasn't written into our marriage vows, so I don't think my husband understood he was signing on to have every card trick I do tested on him. He's always so good about it, though. I say, "I need to try this," with a deck of cards in my hand and he makes space.

Oh. It must be somewhere between the middle of December and New Year's Eve. That breakdown I have every year is happening.

Why does no one stop me when I say I'll make presents? Or decorations? Or food for a party?

How well can people actually know me if they don't know I've never learned the difference between "can do that" and "should do that"?

With the "secret codes" worked into the design, the aesthetics go well with my card tricks and doing divination readings.

I suck at most card games, but have my own ways of being fun to have around for card game nights.

My Bicycle deck of Cypher cards got here just as we were coming down with covid, and recovering has been a lot of spending what energy we have on keeping the house together.

I'm FINALLY getting familiar with the cards! This may be my new main deck for things.

One of the household cats spent most of the day close to me. He has blessed me with his wisdom. Given me profound knowledge to meditate deeply on.

Hips are butt shoulders.

It didn't go up when I wanted it to go up. It didn't go up how I wanted it to go up. But I do not live in a Hallmark Christmas Special, and there's a big gap between "good" and "perfect".

The work day starts too early.

After all these years, every morning is still that first time I ever had to let go of his hand and watch him leave a room.

But every afternoon is that first time we wrapped our arms around each other and insisted it should be forever! 🥰

Of course, asking me, "What are you doing?" would just get the answer, "Setting a noble example of minding my own business."

But then they might start watching!
