If you're not out, you're still family. There are many valid reasons to stay quiet. You are still loved. We just have more family than we know.💜

That includes queer military. We know you're there. We love you. 💜

We just watched the finale of "Star Trek: Discovery". I cried twice. I yelled in joyful shock! And the thing that shocked me...so well done! It's the kind of thing I normally would see coming a season ago and everyone would tell me I'm wrong until it's revealed. But they did it in a way that made that impossible.

And now... I miss them already. That crew became as much fictional family to me as TNG.

I got a new deck of cards. I am really picky about how Hekate is portrayed. Neopaganism has done a lot of appropriating and manipulating. I was glad to see the creator is a member of the Covenant of Hekate. There's a higher standard for research. Looking through the cards, I think they'll be great for self-examination and growth work.

Learned something interesting today...I can't taste coconut. I love the smell! But I've always wondered how other people could so clearly taste it in things. I always thought it was a subtle taste that just mixed well and you'd only notice if it wasn't there.

I don't have the biggest achievements in my family, but I am the one who will really stick with something.

If you're a musician, please monitor your heart rate as you read this. I got new strings for the violin and will be changing them.

I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get my neice's violin tuned properly. Each string was one note lower than it should be, and I just couldn't get any better without serious risk of a snap. Then I found out why.

Those are the strings I helped her put on 8 years ago.

My spouse knows I will doubt and question any assurance that my violin playing "sounds good" only a few days in. So they told me, "It does not sound unpleasant." There are layers to that simple statement, and each layer is a comfy cushion. 🥰

Thank you to every music teacher who made violin videos on YouTube during lockdown! My niece's violin arrived and it sounds like I've been playing for a week on the first day.

It might still sound like first week after a couple of years. But I love how moving the bow across the strings feels!

I appreciate family members messaging me updates about the really long drive they are making. I do not appreciate them not understanding my references to the song "Convoy". I know how old I am. They don't have to remind me.

Added these to our home today, so I'm getting a good start to another week of embracing my weirdness.

I don't know if anybody here watches Dimension 20, but we came into it later and just finished the finale of Sophomore year for the Bad Kids. I was in autistic tears of joy for one of the characters!

Filled the bird feeder, sat 8 or 9 feet away, and started playing my banjo. It only took a few minutes for the beautiful, colorful visitors to start showing up.

I needed this time today. This week, so far, has been a crappy month stuffed into a few days. But it was really nice outside, birds came to the bird feeder and chirped and trilled while I played.

Some days, it doesn't matter which instrument I play. Other days...the guitar seemed to know how I was feeling today.
