@Gfox It's about community. Yeah, politics is being talked about. But it's not all clickbait and drama. Want to talk about it? Talk about it. Want to ignore it and talk about something else? You can do that, too. There's no "You're a bad person if you aren't yelling about this all the time!"

@AngryBlackLady Glad to see you here! I've been on the bird site since 2009. How it has gone would be a shock if I hadn't been following you.

Happy Halloween, CoSoNauts! I've posted a charm reading to my substack (no pay wall) to look at the coming stretch of months.

@KellyCarlin Glad to see you here! I can't say I'm gone for good over there yet, but this is a much healthier space. I'll probably just forget to check in over there at some point.

@you_mountebank I was hesitant because I've seen too many things get hyped as "the end of this other thing", and that just didn't happen. I like that CoSo isn't trying to take advantage of anything else. Just being its own thing.

@Beanc Basic respect and good conversation are such effective shiny things. I'll happily go for the bait!

@probablyahobbit It will probably take me a long time to adjust to the technical side of things. That might be a little simpler with the mobile app, because I don't know what desktop folks are talking about with most things. The social environment is comforting for me here, though. I'm not afraid of the replies I might get. I can risk being wrong about some detail.

I don't adjust easily to new things. I thought I'd make an account here, check things out, and then forget about it because I'd stay in the familiar space.

Nope!

The past couple of days, when it comes to my social media time, have been so much more enjoyable and so much less anxiety. For someone who doesn't adjust easily, I'm getting comfortable here quickly.

@DisasterOracle I hope they get you feeling better! Thanks for sharing the love with us. 💜

Writing up a substack post for a Halloween reading. I've been doing this for a long time and still worry sometimes that I over-explain. It's my autistic nature to want others to understand it as I do.

@stueytheround May the harvest season bring blessings to your table!

@Scoo If you're coming over from Twitter like me, it's like the heart over there. In fact, I can still remember when the heart was a star over there.

Another plant friend! My lady palm is a little under two feet tall. I've only had her a few months. Sitting to the right is my friend Hayden from the Hookland Doll Emporium.

@Targas_Taargas I still struggle with some of the things complicating grief because of my dad's death. It's been several years. I sometimes still think the wrong person died. But he was my dad...even if my fears were true, he wouldn't have let it be me.

I don't have words to make this okay. Just know that grief is personal and isolating, but you aren't completely alone.

@Macvouty I've been here a couple of days now. People actually respect each other and talk like neighbors here. The sense of community is wonderful!

@rpardee He had her for five years, and those were probably five years of a lavish life for a salamander. I'm glad we could keep her so happy.

@katyandtheword I bought a Hobbit cloak from the HerUniverse site last month, and I'm just going to wear it regularly. It's like a security blanket that stays in place. I don't know why cloaks fell out of fashion.

@sfleetucker Are people still going with the late 90s fear that "hacker" automatically means "trying to rob you through your computer"?

Oh no...we just found out my husband's pet salamander died today. He's heartbroken. She was his little friend who ate from his hand.

The cat will be heartbroken, too. They would sit at the corner of the tank and chat with each other. Salamander looked for the cat when she couldn't climb over there for a few days after surgery.
