@WILDKATZ When I'm in an autistic meltdown, I sometimes whisper, "There is a crack in everything... that's how the light gets in." That line has gotten me through so much. And my mood can often be read by how fast or slow I play "Hallelujah" on my ukulele. Leonard Cohen left us with blessings.

People in this house are LIARS!

They keep saying, "I don't want to bother you..."

But they keep bothering me!

Once I got the casting on and first couple of rounds done, everything is going much easier!

Using two sets of circulars because that's 40 stitches on 3.5 mm needles and my hands can't handle four or five straight double pointed needles.

@Kimmycott I fell in love with Don McLean 's "Vincent" because my dad gave me the "American Pie" album he bought when it came out. I still expect those pops and scratches when I hear, "Starry, starry night..." and the guitar notes come flowing into it.

The start of a knitting project is a half hour of, "Don't touch me, don't talk to me, and ignore anything you hear me say... especially if it's not in English!"

I love knitting. Absolutely LOVE doing it!

That's why I repeatedly force myself to endure the torment of casting on and the first couple of rows.

@XaoslordErie That is often VERY true! I've seen people be corrected, but if they don't accept the correction there's a lot of, "Whatever. Let 'em be wrong. They'll learn."

A truth people don't want to hear, though? They will FIGHT that!

@see_the_sus That's why there are all kinds of rumors about his sexuality. Personally, I just wish that if he is gay we would have given him a world where he didn't feel like he had to hide it. But I don't think unmarried + no kids = gay. That assumption carries problems.

@mcfate We were discussing that in the house and thinking maybe we just aren't up to date. It's good to know somebody outside of our house is remembering things the same way.

@Bbk420 We can hope, but I suspect they're just rejecting all the more productive options. Some people make being angry about things a hobby.

Birds are dinosaurs, though! So hummingbirds are "living dinosaurs". Pigeons are "living dinosaurs". Corvids are very intelligent "living dinosaurs".

People are going to push me to start angrily educating them.

Oh. My. Noodles. I'm going to snap at somebody excitedly calling something a "basically, a living dinosaur" one day.

Sturgeons are not "living dinosaurs". Alligators and crocodiles are not "living dinosaurs". Not everything that lived in the periods thought of as "dinosaur times" was a dinosaur.
