Time for me to start another trip around the sun. Hopefully this will be better than the previous lap.

@DavidSalo
This is already happened in music with the prevalence of pitch correction in modern pop. Kids are growing up thinking that robotic hypertuned sound is what you're supposed to sound like, and they try and imitate it.

This is your reminder that June is Men's Mental Health Awareness month.

Some quick facts:
- Mental illness is the largest risk factor for suicide. Over 90% of people who die by suicide struggle mental health or addiction.
- Men account for 75%-80% of all deaths by suicide.
- In Canada, suicide is the 2nd leading cause for death in men under 50, in the U.S. it's the 2nd leading cause of death in men under 45, in the UK it is the leading cause of death for men under 50.

Supposedly what they sprayed was some sort of water soluble powder rather than paint. But totally accurate on the rest.

It's sort of like the PETA playbook.

Anyone looking for an excellent free VPN might consider ProtonVPN, from a company who puts user privacy first. I've been very impressed by it; performance is very good. The free version automatically connects you to the fastest server in either US, Japan, or Netherlands. You don't get to manually choose or to pick from other countries until you upgrade to a paid tier.

@opie
What's not to like is it's run by Google, who make it their business to track their users as much as possible.

I would use this if I needed to connect to some sketchy public Wi-Fi as you describe, but I would think twice about using it to obfuscate my traffic in situations where that's necessary.

@fuse
This is my first time making this. I've heard Old Bay goes well. I didn't have any on hand, so I ground up a sheet of kombu and then put in more standard ingredients. Salt pepper onion powder garlic powder cumin coriander paprika cayenne.

@artemis
No, a Dutch oven full of oil fryer. I may try it in the air fryer in the future. I rarely deep fry anything, but I was frying chicken drumsticks already so I figured let's just use the oil. They came out well.

@th3j35t3r
That's like in my world when people use the term 'musics'. :facepalm:

@Render
Best character in the books, and best acted character in the series.

@thewebrecluse
I remember the Dies Irae and Tuba Mirum movements are still the loudest part of any performance I've ever participated in, by far. I was standing right behind the percussion and brass.

Thank you for posting; I will definitely check it out. I'm not familiar with any of the performers.

@thewebrecluse
A phenomenal piece. I got to perform it in college as part of the choir.

Last chance to watch: 𝙍𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙚𝙢 - 2020 Festival Verdi Parma

Verdi’s Requiem is one of the most dramatic, and undoubtedly the most operatic, of its type ever composed. Roberto Abbado conducts this performance from the 2020 Festival Verdi Parma with Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini and Chorus of Teatro Regio di Parma with soloists, Eleonora Buratto (soprano), Anita Rachvelishvili (mezzo-soprano), Giorgio Berrugi (tenor) and Roberto Tagliavini (bass).

Leaves YT on the 23rd.
