The only way get rid of the bad taste from a Keurig machine is to realize it's about the worst quality coffee you can be drinking, besides the environmental impacts already mentioned. Throw it in the trash and brew high quality fresh roasted beans using a proper brewing method like French press, pour over, or aeropress.

I'm curious to know more about this machine you worked on.

The 788 could easily survive being treated like a soccer ball, like most things this company makes. It was designed to survive harsh conditions and still outperform its competitors. Several of these were used for the desert chase scenes in Mad Max Fury Road.

Upgraded the main storage in my Sound Devices 788T-SSD recorder today. The drive it came with from the previous owner was a refurbished 128GB Samsung 830, installed November of 2014. Best practice recommendation from Sound Devices is to replace these drives every 4 years or so, so this was long overdue.

I replaced it with a 480 GB Crucial BX500 3D NAND, which only cost me $38.

This gave me another opportunity to admire the beautiful internal design. What a tank.

Yet another reason why I won't drink Starbucks.

Rough day for one of my fur babies. While playing with buddies at daycare this morning, there was a scrum and she got the end of her ear bitten off. Immediately raced over to pick her up and bring her to the vet. Very said injuries like this take a long time to heal because of all the capillaries. It kind of just has to heal on its own. She got painkiller, anti-inflammatory, and antibiotic, and an anti-flap head wrap on order.

It looks really terrible but she's doing all right, considering.

I know, it doesn't make sense because no actual traffic should be going through the pi. But I've just been searching and finding some posts from users who have degraded performance when using the pi-hole for DHCP. No clear explanation.

It seems many people who choose this option do so because they own crappy routers with limited DHCP options. I can't speak to that - I have been running DD-WRT on all my routers almost exclusively for the past 15 years or so.

I've read reports from other pi-hole users that having the pi do DHCP can slow performance. Something to do with the smaller memory on the pi's. To be fair, I haven't tested this myself.

When I started using pi-hole, I actually got a slight speed increase on my network. And a further increase when I added unbound to do all of my own DNS resolution.

The only way you might get a speed reduction is if you use your pi-hole as DHCP server as well.

If you are seeing ads where you previously were not, they're probably coming from a domain that's not on your block lists. I can give you some list recs if you need, as can @opie .
