Several of you asked for samples o the dress rehearsal I recorded of my choir. I was quite happy with the recording and you can find some samples linked below. Please forgive our conductor barking at us to look up in the first selection - many of the men needed the reminder, but I wanted to include the men's-only piece as well as the one with just the women. There is some nice variety of instrumentation also.

@voltronic GOOD plan!
@XaoslordErie
Our chamber choir had an incident back in late August where 9 out of 18 people present at rehearsal all came down with COVID (I was one of them). Our board decided that even though the policy had generally moved to masks-optional for this season, we would require them for the 2-3 weeks prior to a concert so that we can actually have the concert with everyone present and healthy.
@voltronic You have to take the steps you have to take. Health far more important than comfort or bullheadedness of someone else.
@XaoslordErie
There was actually no argument whatsoever about it. The entire membership agreed it was a good decision.
Excellent! Didn't think there was or would be, but you and I both know how some folks can be.
Tech details: A single pair of DPA 4061 omnis at 50 cm width, 12 ft high and about 12-15 ft back from conductor.
Mics ran through Naiant PFAs into my Zoom F6 at 32-bit float / 48 kHz. iZotope RX in post for removal of lighting hum. Edits in Reaper with gentle EQ on the 4061's 12 kHz peak.
Tonight is the concert, which I will not get to record as we hire a "pro" company to do it. (Pro price; sometimes less so in results.)
