I have been seeing quite a lot of this.

@voltronic it’s only going to get worse when winter hits. My adopted daughter is in grad school now but picking up teaching credentials teaching first grade students. To hear the challenges really was eye opening. We should just take a break, let parents who can work get through this and pick it back up when it’s safer, imho.

In the PA school system, mrs. Told me retirements tripled this year vs last year.

@Museek
I'm not sure exactly what you mean, because they still would have the burden of paying for much more childcare than normal. That's one of the factors driving school reopening.

@Kurtroedeger
I'm not surprised. A few people I know retired, and my principal just announced her retirement effective the end of December. This is so much harder than I've worked at any point in my career, and it's about to get much harder in a few weeks when students come back in person.

If I was in the financial position and had the years, I absolutely would have retired over the summer.

In some respects, school districts are doing the best they can. In others, they are making blatantly stupid decisions.

@voltronic @Museek

There are no easy or 'good' decisions right now. 😞

Hope any reopening goes well for you. ❤️🤞
