Definitely a bummer both scientifically and symbolically. It was important for the people of Puerto Rico and the scientists that work there. I did not visit it when I was there several times last year thinking it would be a nice treat in a future trip.
@ucantstop_me I guess it was too far gone for any hope of that. The only option was to tear it down safely. Moot now.
