Yesterday I told a chicken to cross the road. It asked, "What for?"

And this is the point where I get out the thermal shirt and bottoms. Been said a thousand times, but I hope everyone is warm and safe.

Wish I had a coat like one of these fellas right about now...

@TubunMuzuru I can only speak for myself, but the relationship seems reciprocal - my lap is warmer, yet my mobility is limited. One wonders what the felines have to gain from our inaction... perhaps just cuddle energy.

Had to step outside for a bit, and a little started forming in my head...

man it is so cold
i find it hard to deal with
how damn cold it is

Mr. Link has this "surviving the cold" thing figured out. I've got a little more cold prep to do, but... I guess I can wait a little bit. My lap is getting heated, at least.

@LiberalLibrarian "Commercialized space" yeah, he should be flogged for that one. (Among everything else.) NDT is the picture they put in the dictionary under "pseudo-intellectual."

I know my chili is gonna be good because it's been simmering for 12 hours and still hasn't fully matured. Soon to hit that magic moment where the flavors do their mingling...

Soaking beans to have a late night chili making session. I'm already drooling a bit thinking about it...

Getting to watch live TV for the first time since cutting the cord, and I can't understand how anyone can stand to watch it anymore.

Thought commercials a few years ago were bad, but I'm at the point where if I even hear the annoying ads for something, I actively hate that product... and most of the content it interrupts isn't much better.

A... strange video for a great song. I dig it. Just the tip of the iceberg on my Amyl & the Sniffers fanboyism.

amyl and the sniffers — "got you"

@Satchelpooch That's the word I was looking for. What a strange phenomenon.

@Dogofalltrees You know how sometimes people get obsessed with a show or character and treat them like they're real, or they know them? I see more and more people who treat their favored politicians that way.

Example: I saw someone the other day respond to Beto losing a family member (a private citizen) with, "We loved them so much, they will be missed. Love you Beto!❤️" The most obvious comparison is how some people treat Trump like he's Jesus.

Again, maybe I'm the one being weird about it. 😅

Am I weird for cringing a bit when people treat political leaders like a member of their family, or their favorite character from a show? I understand respecting them, but it gets creepy to me sometimes...

@JuicySonicMagic Everyone constantly has this guy figured out and he still acts like he's some tactical genius. Annoying as hell!

@LnzyHou ... How have I never thought of this before? Great idea!

Hey gang. Hope everyone's doing well today. I need some coffee... 😶

Hope those caught in the cold snap are having an easy enough time keeping warm. Basically married to my space heater right now. May need to upgrade it as the week goes on...
