Just in case I needed to say it more clearly: testosterone injections, estrogen pills, face lifts, botox, and, yes, breast enhancements are *all* gender-affirming care.

And since some aren't aware of it: yes, vaginoplasties are performed on cisgender women too, and those, too, are gender-affirming care.

But you don't hear about this because it'd disrupt the anti-trans narrative and because it's very inconvenient for bans in court, particularly post-Bostock.

Yes!
The majority of medications and surgeries that are part of gender affirmation for trans people were invented for and are still primarily used for cis people.

All we're asking is that we have access to the same health care as everyone else.

@tyghebright @lenaoflune imagine the uproar if people had to have psychiatrist approval letters in order to have any of those things or any surgery considered 'cosmetic'...

@lenaoflune @tyghebright exactly... it'd single handedly destroy the cosmetic surgery industry in one fell swoop.

@lenaoflune @lilyunsub

All surgery has a regret rate.
Knee surgery may be as high as 30%
Surgery for breast or prostate cancer is around 13-14%

For gender confirmation surgeries? It's 1-3%
Nothing comes close to that.
