@tyghebright damn. I miss just coming to work, doing my job, then going home. No OT, no extra effort expected.
I hate being in leadership/management. I miss doing a job then leaving and living my life.
Not management or leadership, but I really miss being invested in my job, going the extra mile, feeling worthwhile.
Sadly, no more. Reassigned halftime because another group "needed bodies."
Hey, it's a job. That's it. That's all. People who know me can tell you that's a devastating insult to the company.
@waywardflf @tyghebright I’m sorry your hours were forfeited to another area. My staff see me go the extra mile so they do as well. I try so hard to help my staff, to treat them well, and advocate for competitive pay so they’ll stay.
@annamuneca @tyghebright
Excellent. Thank you for caring for your people.
A couple of pieces of advice: don’t refer to your hardworking staff as “bodies” when moving them to a more profitable/influential department, and never start a company meeting with the execs chatting on open mics about the latest junket to Singapore, their leadership fun and games at a resort, or fashion trends of the execs right before they talk about earnings being down or realigning benefits or career paths. JMHO.
@waywardflf @tyghebright i hate that stuff. So tone-deaf. Reminds me of the “let’s have fun at work!” BS past bosses have pulled when I worked in a call center of a business & we were SUPER busy. Customers whose orders were late could hear the laughing in the background. It was embarrassing.
@tyghebright Me too. I feel this.
