This kind of headline drives me bonkers. Cutting off the quote to imply the substance is wrong, rather than the decision to air it was wrong. And they’re all doing it.
Not a lawyer, but MSNBC didn't 'state' any such thing. They said they had heard, and couched the information in so many 'if it's true' phrases it was hard to figure out what exactly the information was.
