Dang it! I have too much to do, and I just found parrot forums that are active, and right near the top are photo contests, I do NOT need the temptation to drop everything for a photoshoot. Hmm. I did think earlier that I needed to spend more time in the bird room, like set aside an entire day to encourage them to come out. It has pretty purple walls. Grrrr too many chores!

Officially counting down the days to the Tulsa Bird Fair. I can't let it slip from my mind and spend my money on something else, I want a female for Sunny. Sky's attitude is too withdrawn, I won't breed him, but he can go in the bachelor aviary eventually. It will be a while until Sunny is ready to be a daddy, but I'll have plenty of time to bond with them until the breeding thing happens.
When we were growing up it was our grandmother who had final say on important matter.
In traditional Lakota it’s very much the same way. The word for womb is ta mni na.. meaning “her water”
And that is at the root of everything sacred. Her water brought life forward.. she wasn’t a rib in a man. It was her water that brought forth life. It was her water that nurtured that life and grew that life.. it’s not something that can be suppressed forever. The men have different roles
The book I just finished mentioned physicist Paul Ehrenfest's parrot, which he'd taught to say, "But gentlemen, this is not PHYSICS!"
Nature, science, and art are super cool. Terribly sorry for the stuff that doesn't fit.
