Freddie the formerly feral Mercury is really enjoying my "turn up the music and reorganize ALL the bedroom storage space" party, so it's cool that he's down with the chaos.
Residents of countries that are not America, I have a question. When you purchase something from a cashier and there is someone behind you, after you hand your money over, are you shoved aside for the next person or are you allowed to gracefully pack your receipt and change before they are done with you?
Is this "liminal"? I know liminal mostly refers to places in transition from one state to another, like a closed school waiting to open again, but this feeling I want to express is more stationary, closer to anxiety or detachment. Looking at the world and not being able to take from it cues if you are safe or not, because normal things have not always been safe, but you're fine and not actually afraid or anxious. You can't come to rest, but you are resting.

Looks like my oldest can't make it out in California, so now they're coming home. With their roomate. Joe's not working so he's home (contract work out of state, he saves up and comes home for a while). Youngest is at camp but will be home soon. That's one kiddo and four grown people. Four dogs.
