: not far off from how literal I am prone to taking things if I am not really careful... and alas, even frequently when I am being really careful

: from my IG a goodly while back

More than a few of my thoughts and "pro-tips" come down to some variation of "talk is cheap".

: From my IG not all that long ago. This every bit happens and rather often. Additionally, if people blow up at you over over effectively nothing, which is usually the case, and then learn you're autistic, they'll still be angry and dismissive because now they feel stupid or at least are embarrassed, and so they won't back off and will sometimes double-down to "save face".

: Communication is always limited, sometimes even hindered by each participant's frame of mind at any given moment, personal experiential frames of reference, preconceptions and assumptions of the other participants(s), each participant's ability to use their language effectively, and each participant's ability to understand others' language, and all that's just for starters.

3/2: As the fella said, "Everything is connected to everything else." I didn't know anyone said that until I was in my thirties, but that's been my nature since I was a smol human. It isn't an autism-only thing, but there's no real doubt that my being exacerbates that other large part of my nature.

: I made this a year or two ago. It's a somewhat tongue-in-cheek chart of the levels of response of autistics to communication. It comes from decades of direct experience, observation, and feedback.

: When one confuses one's own excitement and enthusiasm for the reality of any number of situations and their outcomes, it's usually a recipe for disappointment, anger, resentment, and such. It's the other side of the "many of the things I lived in fear of were things that never happened anywhere but in my mind".

Just a thought that's crossed my mind since I was old enough to observe others over time and note the patterns.

: Sadly but truly a part of , and yes, while the neuronormative deal with it in no small amount, autistics tend to deal with it disproportionately and in part because of perceived differences in body language, demeanor, eye contact, and social scripting compared to what passes for the norm.

: from my IG some years back

Control of and authority over others is not and has never been my bag, as never has enthusiastic blind obeisance. This has put me at odds with many over the decades, though not by own choice but by theirs, and hilarity (/sarcasm) has always ensued.

I like routine and flexibility for the purpose of structure and improvement, not to mention adventure.
