: A few times since I was maybe thirty, people have asked if I could be like someone in particular, as in as smart or talented or whatever, be able to do something(s) like they could/can, and for a while that was impossible to answer. It was so because I had to actually think about it. It's a lot to sort through. I eventually got it down to three candidates:

Orson Welles, Freeman Dyson, or Sergey Rachmaninov.

That is as far down as I can winnow it, alas.
