: I first noticed in 2018 that I seemed to be getting less verbal in public. I have monitored my public behavior and interactions since then, and it has hit me since around November last that I have indeed, preferring when possible to sign. (Basic signing, not full-on ASL conversations.) I have also analyzed and preliminarily determined the reason for the change, though that is a story for another day.
