1/2: It's not even noon, and already someone's gotten openly angry with me for my already knowing something they only just found out.

It started out as it usually does. They excitedly began a convo, and we chate about the stuff a bit. Then they began attempting to extrapolate other things about the topic, and the extrapolations, while enthusiastic, were partly or entirely incorrect. I encouraged them to rethink their extrapolations by introducing relevant information they didn't know, and...

2/2: that, as they say in the memes, is when the fight broke out. It doesn't matter that I was excited as they were to talk shop with someone. I get excited about shop-talk a lot and forget that not everyone's in that . I don't play shop-talk for keeps. I talk shop because it's fun, I get to learn stuff, I get to run theoreticals versus actual data with someone else, and again, it's fun, not a win-lose game.
