1/2: Some experiences and stories you don't share with certain people/audiences because they will react badly to them, and they won't react badly because they're necessarily bad stories but because they can't abide others' life experiences not being the way their own personal narrative of How Things Are says they should be. This I have learned from repeated experience since I was a child.

2/2: And no, it's inaccurate often that "Well, if they don't like it then it's their problem, not yours". That's because people can and will, if they are at all able, revenge themselves on you, usually socially but sometimes worse, and I have decades of experience with that. And it makes zero difference if they "evolve" and eventually apologize. There's not unhitting anyone ever, and there's no unstabbing people in the back or unthrowing them under the bus.

Gauge your audiences, folks.
