I can't decide if this is supposed to be a kitchen utensil, or a gift for the ex-husband/ex-boyfriend who is hanging on and thinks he still has a shot.

I told Rockler "either build a store in Charlotte or stop sending me emails where 1/2 the stuff I want is in store only!"

So they built a store. And I'm taking the credit for it. You're welcome, Charlotte.

Oooh! A neighbor just texted and asked if I can have some fresh cut walnut logs! I said "you had me at "walnut".

Bowl in the photo is from a log the same guy gave me about this time last year. It had started to crack so I cast the whole workpiece in epoxy resin before turning the bowl. Hopefully this next batch will be more solid.

OK, not importing all my old data but gotta post this one before calling it a night. Another piece from the river birch burl my neighbor gave me. I hated the finish the first time around so last week I re-mounted it on the lathe, carved away the top layer, sanded and hit it with Waterlox glossy. Ahhh, that's better. 10" wide x 5" tall.

This cedar vase is about 10" tall. I was going for a classic vase shape and ended up making a nuclear power plant cooling tower.

I'm not good at making memes, political or otherwise, so I make stuff like this and subject y'all to photos of it.

This wave feels like when AOL unleashed all its users on Usenet, except instead of turning everything to crap this seems like it's making things better.
