Learn from my mistakes: Don't feed the oven squirrel! If you do, he invites all his friends.
The two on the right are maple and the two on the left are spalted hackberry, all of which are new. The two bottom center are cherry and the oddball top center is zebrawood.
@tdotrob Oooh the cherry ones are so cute.
@Brisse I tried to get the sapwood line right about neck high on those. Not much of it to work with but I thought it worked in the end. The maple ones are almost too bland though. Might be good for laser engraving though. Or carving. Pyrography maybe. I should stop now. ;-)
@Brisse Always figured my consulting gig would end one day so stocked up on crafting and woodworking tools while I could. Happily surprised that the consulting work has been steady for 10 years, so now my problem is finding time to use the toys. π
@Brisse That cow is nightmare fuel, BTW.
@tdotrob I grew up with most of the tools in the garage, helped my dad with building a wishing well, benches and stuff even a paper towel holder I now use in the workshop for my paper towels for finishing. I've got a less expensive laser and other tools but sometimes I just get uninspired... Also I named the Woc, Francine, she's a good girl. π Only tool I don't really have is a CNC but I'm not sure I need it.
@tdotrob Ohh you have all the fancy toys. π I don't really need a plastic squirrel, I have a cow with udders on its head and a tail broken in 2 spots, and a once amputated leg that was glued back on...
