@tgraph52 Oh, Guthrie is an amazing player, and he is absolutely wedded to the five shape thing, which is fine -(hell, whatever lets you see the neck!). If you look at the three string triads up, down, and across (thanks, Tomo Fujita), you'll see the C-D and G-A forms are really extensions of one another, and that approach makes it easier to also see the minors...
but back to Guthrie - love the album he just released with Bukovac, and some of their live stuff on the You of Tube....

Ok, so Tim Pierce did a video yesterday pointing out that the 5 CAGED shapes are really just three, which I have been telling students for years (and which also opens up the minors).
I feel mildly vindicated.

@northernbassist I would surely love to have his friend HST around to provide the proper vitriol...

@nealfig I'm as big a Gilmour fan as any, but I always felt Wright's keys were the core of the Floyd sound...

@feloneouscat ...under the flag of "morality" 🤮 , keeping his profile up while keeping the administration tied up in court (like his forebears Abbott and Perry) at the same time bobbing and weaving to keep himself out of the dock...

You can say the Orcas are only playing, but....

Why is it always yachts?

@CanisPundit Well, that's my birthday, so I'll expect a great big senten-, er, present...

From Ted Gioia:
"The latest shenanigans at Spotify are happening on country music playlists, where hit songs are featured—but they are mysterious cover versions that seem to be AI-created."
So, while they post their own AI-created songs to siphon off plays, they accuse smaller creators of cheating if a playlist Spotify deems illegit picks up a song, and deletes them.
Delete Spotify!

Portmanteau of concertina and recreation: they will be subjected to forced exercise wearing squeezeboxes.

@BillyBones Well, it's the ground wire that really shows the depth of craftsmanship, along with the tonal balance no doubt provid...
Who am I kidding? Kill it with fire!

@CanisPundit @Museek That first Taj Mahal album in permanent rotation....(if Jesse's licks were good enough for Duane Allman...)

So, in trying to express the difference in knowing the notes and really knowing a piece of music, I ended up referencing Goethe to a Jr. Hi kid in a lesson today....too much coffee or not enough?

@tgraph52 @gshevlin The other notable thing about that cut is the fairly obvious inspiration (to be kind) it provided a certain young San Franciscan....

@gshevlin A Hard Road has been in the car player for the last week...it'll stay a little longer.

@Alfred @JanetZumba_FalPals
FZ punning (as was his wont), this time off "zut alors!," which, basically, is "damn!"
