one of my speakers talked about the power of giving in the arts.

in this community, as generous as it is, arts is not one of the things they like to fund.

peeps often think the arts is a luxury. but what do we turn to when we lose a loved one? poetry to speak to our grief. when we fall in love, we celebrate w/ music & dance. arts is the expression of our humanity, of who we are. it's not a luxury. it reminds us of why life is worth living.
