Any guitar seller would call that "mother of pearl" because it's oyster or abalone shell, not actual pearls!
The wording, like in all these product ads, isn't aimed at folk who would actually use them.

good catch! i don’t know anything about custom guitars- but I collect vintage jewelry. first red flag for me is “authentic” bc sadly that means it’s iften a fake! and “inlay” can be a red flag. there are actual craft papers that look like mother of pearl inlay” that could fool a non-expert.
