Anyway, I’m back on the sober side, so Unfiltered Enoch Time is over.

@Thumprhare Unfiltered Enoch Time is an unpleasant time for both Enoch and people around Enoch.

@EnochianEntropy given recent events
sometimes you just need to vent

@Thumprhare Like I said, people have the right to be upset, but they shouldn’t make themselves suffer about things that haven’t happened yet - it’s a hairshirt they don’t need to put on yet and it just fatigues you so that either when the thing happens it makes it even worse or you ignore it because you wore yourself out.

@EnochianEntropy @Thumprhare I had a counselor who says, "Don't borrow sorrow from tomorrow."

@pr10n @Thumprhare Borrow? Hell, you’re full on making new sorrow. You’re still gonna feel it tomorrow anyway.

Might as well “have an accident” and be happy today and have your sorrow tomorrow.

Like the rhyming, though. Good saying.

@EnochianEntropy @pr10n I dunno, seems when you have experienced have your autonomy away—or some related trauma—it’s going to trigger the memory and bring it up.

Just move on is your way

I am a plan for 6 different scenarios person.

I know a lot of folks that are just in denial about the whole situation

"Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

"... do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Some dude from Nazareth, probably.

@stueytheround @Thumprhare @pr10n Some Dude From Nazareth was pretty awesome and people need to make a bigger deal about the human part of him instead of the God part.

Because he was at least half human, and still pretty goddamn awesome
.

Unsure if that’s blasphemous or what.

@EnochianEntropy "Fully God and fully man" I think it says somewhere in the NT. Fully human but with "extras". He knew every joy and pain we do and then some. He's so relatable.

My view recently has been the ‘everyone needs to calm down and everything will workout’ have been 100% (and I hate to say this) white men in my sphere.

Interesting observation speaking to folks levels of innate sense of safety in the world or not.

I am sure it’s not all guys everywhere but it’s a fascinating pattern.

Only noting the pattern

@Thumprhare @stueytheround @pr10n

 yeah, I get that - I think it’s “I know it won’t be as bad for me because I’m a white guy and it’s fucking bullshit because everyone I care about is going to have it even worse than I will and I _hate_ it. Just because of the way they were born means that they have to suffer more? It’s not right, and I don’t know what to do, so I need to signal it out so that I feel better by feeling worse.”

@Thumprhare @stueytheround @pr10n So I acknowledged that, and decided to save it, if I can, for when I need to. I HOPE, I can be who I’ll need to be then, instead of just virtue signaling now.

@EnochianEntropy @stueytheround @pr10n

You are insightful, I think you will be there. It really sucks to feel like you have no control. Or limited.

I keep telling myself I will find a way to get my meds if they gut the VA. It keeps me alive, literally
so I have no idea what my actual response will be when whatever happens

I am trying to keep moving, my current default is fatigue and sloth mode which I don’t think is helpful either

@Thumprhare @stueytheround @pr10n I decided last Wednesday that what I want/need to do with this time is write.

I don’t want it to come to nothing at all.

@Thumprhare , when the "market price" of one's meds is 6+ grand a month and climbing... it's realistic to call bullshit on how "everything is going to be all right." // @EnochianEntropy @stueytheround @pr10n

@LadyZurk Yeah there's a world of difference between "don't worry about tomorrow" and "everything's going to be fine.".

The former is a "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it." attitude, the latter is wishful thinking.

@Thumprhare @EnochianEntropy @pr10n

@Thumprhare
You're probably right.
Worry is fear of what hasn't happened yet and if one is part of the privileged sectors, you probably feel there's nothing to fear or worry about.
Worry is a precursor to catastrophisimg and that leads to panic, often, and we *do* need to avoid panic.
Panic prevents clear thinking and planning.
And oh boy does some planning need to happen!
