Do you think it's possible or acceptable to make it a legal duty to vote in the USA?
I know there are those who would argue that to do so breaks 1A, but I do wonder if there might be a way of framing the law to allow for that, such as a "none of the above" or "no confidence" option on all ballots.
I also know that it would not be in the "best interests" of certain groups to pass such a law since it would likely mean they never get elected again.
I'm thinking of Australia. It works.

I'd like to see it here in the UK. When only a 3rd of the electorate bothers to turn up, it's barely a democracy we're in.
"The majority of people who could be arsed to put a mark on a piece of paper voted for us" isn't much of a mandate, is it?
