In our town, there has been an effort by Christian nationalists to deny the opportunity to run for another term on the local Library Board to a local pastor, because he supports queer people. He is also married to a man, but they didn't come out and say that. Mayor kept it under wraps, didn't allow the side supporting the pastor to weigh in, then decided to remove said pastor from the ballot for the Library Board. ++
@publickovacs To save you typing extra letters, someone here coined (or mentioned) the term "Christianist". I have taken to using it to differentiate radical extremist Christians from regular, Jesus-following Christians in the same way that "Islamist" is used for radical Muslim extremists.
These asses are definitely Christianists!
@stueytheround @publickovacs I've been using that term for years. It just seemed a fair adaptation of all of the "Islamist" references in the media! Hope we can get it into mainstream usage. 👍
