Lots of people comment their agreement.
Then I edit 'puppies' to 'Nazis'.
Now everyone who comments appears to agree with the new post.
Much better that this is a place where we don't correct each others' spelling mistakes.
@Myrth Trouble comes when the troll screenshots and posts elsewhere as "evidence" that cosonauts are nazis.
Too late by then even if they get banned.
Lack of edit facility is, in the end, only a minor inconvenience.
It isn't an *essential* feature.

I disagree. Many forums I post in have edit buttons. Those that do have an edit history, so that you can see what was originally posted if the responses seem incongruous.
It could also be made a violation of TOS to abuse the edit feature in that way, resulting in permanent bans.
Boards have successfully functioned with edit features for decades.
