This is not a crusade against CounterSocial.
This is a pathetic attempt to stop people from leaving Twitter.
@sock I’ve seen this a few times with accounts who have a large number of perceived followers and they’re scared to start over and have to build up again. It’s all BS but they’re begging people to stay.
@Twocrazybunnies @sock repeating myself from an earlier post, Palmer is a political entrepreneur narrow-casting to DNC/DCCC true believers. He’s a cheerleader more than an objective reporter. While I’m all for supporting Democratic candidates, Palmer is in it for the money and Twitter once was a means to gets visitors to his site. Those days are gone. I imagine anti-Democrat propagandists like Jimmy Dore will thrive there though.
@sock exactly
@sock We've seen this before. *yawn*
@sock That guy is unprofessional and regularly posts unhinged sounding rants, not news. 🙄
He’s always been desperate for attention in the form of follows and likes.
Absolutely agree!!
@sock it seems to be the 200-500k accounts that are going hardest and doubling down on Twitter instead of bailing (as many said they would do).
I get that without Twitter they would probably lose a huge amount of their income, which would be tough. But maybe work on diversifying asap instead of trying to sh*t talk other platforms (which will have zero impact on slowing the outflow of Twitter users).
@TheRuralProgressive @sock
Its not just the outflow, its also the personal data breaches that have occured in the past and that are occurring. as one prominent hacker said this morning, before getting suspended.
@Bliss @sock the data breaches aren’t helping that’s for sure. Twitter is going to be a death by a thousand cuts. A new data breach here, another white supremacist being allowed back on there. The only large outflows would be caused by someone like Taylor Swift leaving. Twitter could weather becoming more fascist and banning progressives and critics. It could never survive losing big name celebrities (and yes that sounds kind of depressing but it’s almost certainly true).
@sock that account was spreading disinformation / misinformation before Elon walked in with the sink, making people believe the deal wouldn't happen in the first place, then encouraging people to stay. #RIPTwitter
@sock
Yep.
@sock Maybe some of each. He's having a good cry that J called him on his shit. But probably also seeing that without algorithms and an echo chamber his style of 'activism' isn't as lucrative as it was before Musk (bM?)
@sock Palmer Report blocked me when I called him out on some hyperbolic and hysterical nonsense he posted. He's been annoying for a long time. He can stay well away from here and I won't complain.
@sock no it isn't. Where do you read that?
It's simply suggesting that people not overhype a replacement to the bird, and not expect the same experience straight away. It preaches patience and tolerance for the imperfections of competing sites.
Every new thing is subject to the "hype curve". This says to recognise that and keep calm.
@Fontypete Is that you, Bill?
@sock nope. It's Pete, as the name suggests!
@sock Palmer won't come to any platform where he can't make money. That's fine with me if he stays away.
