What type of ‘shrooms? The only recipes I’ve made, so far, call for Creminis.
@see_the_sus These are the large brown ones sold in bulk at Costco.
The label should say what kind they are.
Here are three of my favorites. The dip is from Cooking Light and the other two are from America’s Test Kitchen Slow Cooker.
@see_the_sus I am wondering if I can just slice and freeze them. Never tried that before, but some store bought frozen mixed vegetables have a bit of mushroom in them.
Yes/No. if you freeze them, they’ll only be usable in stews or casseroles for recipes that call for finely chopped shrooms cause they turn mushy when frozen.
I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time researching what foods can or can’t, (shouldn’t), be frozen all in an attempt to stop throwing food away. As a single gal, it’s damn near impossible, (here in dear ‘ol America), to find small amounts of fruits and veggies. 😠
Oh and how to freeze, cause that matters as well.
