@Jennyfoo2u @see_the_sus Way I see it, there are two main aspects to this.
First: People thrive on debate, argument, controversy. Videos reacting-to-a-reaction-to-a-video have that built-in, so it's really not that surprising people gravitate towards them (despite how banal it all is).
Second: Making a reaction video allows someone to piggyback on an existing video's popularity and "steal some of the thunder". They also require little effort to make. As a result, a lot of them get made.
@see_the_sus lucky. I just noticed it on other social media platforms. “Viral” videos I’m pushed are increasingly just people commenting on other people commenting on other people’s videos. I don’t get it 🤷♀️🤷♀️
