Maddie, (and me), wondering what’s going on outside that would have my neighbor’s dogs so riled up. They were barking like a devil was outside their windows. Her apartment is at the back of our small 4-unit building and her bedrooms face the alley against a cement wall and embankment, up towards houses. I’ve been back there on occasion and have never seen/heard dogs up the hill. Weird.

@see_the_sus Everyone hears or smells something amiss! Noses and ears are better than cameras sometimes.

@Whovian10

Very true! They started up about an hour later but for about 1/2 the amount of time.

Isn't it odd how we can get so in tune with neighbors dogs? One of mine has 3 super alert dogs. Their main view is my yard / bedroom. I can tune out all the trivial barking but I know their serious tone. A little unnerving but I like having them on duty 24/7

@SaneWoman

She and her pups moved in about a month (or has it been 2 already?) ago and I'm not accustomed to having dogs nearby. Well, medium to large doggos whose bark is deep and loud.
They "warn" her every time I go out onto my patio and I'm hoping they eventually get used to me. She said there was a not-so-nice neighbor guy at their last place & the dogs didn't like him.

It can certainly be a pain too. You'll probably tune it out before they get used to you 🤣 But if you hear something or get spooked and they don't bark, you'll feel safe and if someone creeps around and they go crazy scaring them away, you kinda can't beat it 👍The ones here go off when a leaf falls 😩 Did not like it for a long time. Now I feel safer & mostly only hear them when they sound serious.
