We are married but we don't wear rings. Neither of us feel comfortable wearing rings. Someone suggested getting a tattooed ring but neither of us like tattoos. Is it weird that we don't care? Just noticed from a social event we went to recently where we met a lot of new people and many of them asked us about it.

@scottyorange How long have you been married? It seems that people only ask that of couples married for a relatively short time. I don't wear a wedding ring and no one has ever mentioned it.

@BillieBun We went to several new social events this week where maybe ten to twenty people we had never met were there.

@scottyorange I wear mine around my neck. No one has ever asked why I don't wear one on my finger. It's been 12 years.

@scottyorange My husband and I got arm tattoos.

Before you consider ring tattoos, understand that the palm side of hands and fingers doesn't hold tattoo ink well.

Also, the finger is the second-most painful place to get tattooed.

@scottyorange I know a few mechanics and nurses who don’t wear their wedding bands due to their work. My BFF works with horses regularly & to avoid losing hers she stopped wearing it.

@scottyorange we haven't worn wedding rings in probably 15 years. Not weird.

@scottyorange most days I never put on my wedding ring. I’m not a jewelry sort of person and I get my hands into the garden or whatever and just don’t want to worry about it. I’m just as married either way. My husband never takes his off -that’s his choice.
