One of our clients got her new dog at a taco stand on vacation. Why doesn't fun stuff like that ever happen to me? Tacos *and* a puppy? Sign me up!

This week is National Veterinary Receptionists Week! So bring your vet's front desk staff some snacks or just let them know you appreciate them. We're often on the receiving end of people's worst moods and energy.. so some of the opposite is nice sometimes. 😁❀️

You wouldn't believe the number of times we get asked "What are these??" I've had enough.

@AskTheDevil She usually finds a way to make it about her. Her favorite game is telling me how whatever I'm doing at the particular moment is the wrong way to do it. She's one of those people. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Jesus Christ. Crying on my birthday because my mom just snapped at me for eating a late lunch because she was going to ask me to put dinner in the oven while she had to run out.. then come to find out I would be cooking my own birthday dinner that she didn't even ask me if I wanted. And now she's mad at ME. What the actual fuck is happening??

It's my birthday today! So what am I doing? Suffering through something my boyfriend put on Netflix that I don't even want to watch. *sigh*

Watched a movie today called Cobweb that my boyfriend chose. I basically spent the entire time Rifftraxing it. It's just that kinda horror movie. It requires commentary. I will say though, Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr do a great job playing super creepy parents.

Tomorrow is my birthday and my boyfriend brought my gifts over today. Nimoy supervised all the festivities and now he's pooped.

Super excited to hear myself getting a shout-out on the latest episode of one of my favorite new podcasts! Neil and Megan are so great. They're a true crime podcast where she's telling him the story and he's reacting. The reactions are usually pretty amusing.

@EileenKCarpenter from what they said, this client has dolls lined up all along the walls and in like every room. That's a bit much.

My boss and one of our techs had to go on a housecall this afternoon for a client and they come back like "you're never going to believe what she collects!" I really need to ask what the appeal of collecting a bunch of really big dolls is. I know everyone has their thing, but dolls can be creepy. Those eyes following you everywhere. Yikes.

@finkled It sounded so fake when he did it too. I was looking around thinking someone was messing with me. 🀒

I just did a frantic Internet search because *of course* the one food I found that doesn't give my cat explosive diarrhea is out of stock through the vet staff feeding program I got it from for a great price. Worth every penny to pay double through Petco. Better than hearing that sound coming from the litterbox. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Just throwing this out there in case anyone in southern CT is looking for a job in the animal field! Where I work is hiring a full time hospital attendant. Must love to clean and be used to being on your feet a lot. Animal experience not needed, but it would help! Listing is on Indeed under Bethany Veterinary Hospital.

So.. you're *supposed* to wake up rested? What's that like?

@AskTheDevil No, it's mostly shows I didn't finish because I got distracted by other shows. πŸ˜‚

Does anyone else use Trakt to help track what shows and movies they're watching?? I've been using it for years and it's so helpful. Today I decided to scroll *all* the way down to the bottom of my "Up Next" list and finish shows I never finished. There's so many. Like Arrested Development, The Magicians, Penny Dreadful, etc.

@LnzyHou True, but testing once a year vs having to spend over $1000 to treat a heartworm infection is a deal I would take. It's also not safe to give them the preventative if they *do* have an infection, so we kinda need to know. I'd hate for this lady's companion to suffer because she just didn't want to do it.

Had an older client come in to get Heartgard for her dog because Chewy told her she had to get it from us. We denied her order request through Chewy because the dog hasn't had a heartworm test since 2015 and she only gives the preventative "in the summer." *Deep breath* Apparently because he's an indoor dog she doesn't think he can catch it. Guess what, folks? Mosquitos can come inside. Heartworm is $$$$$ to treat if they get it. Test and give the pill!
