Had a dream I was at work, but not the right work. Instead of a veterinary hospital it looked more like a small cafe that used to be a house. And I realized halfway through the workday (in the dream) that I had forgotten to switch our phones from the "closed for a holiday" message and was like "no wonder it's been so quiet." 😂 In reality, if I did that I'd have 25 messages telling me in a snotty manner that we should be open.

Working the front desk alone tomorrow. Wanna take bets on whether I get a lunch break or am shoving food in my face right there between phone calls? There's a good chance it'll be the second one.

I have a few favorite podcasts that have been going for years and I still have literal hundreds of episodes to get through. It seems pretty daunting, but I'm up for it.

I sense a coming on.

Here's your friendly reminder to get your lady cats and dogs spayed! Very nice family came in with their very sick 10 year old cat and never had her spayed. Now she's got a super infected uterus and needs emergency surgery. Keep her in your thoughts! 🐾

My social battery drains HARD pretending I'm a friendly extrovert all day to clients at work. No wonder I'm always so tired.

@Indefinite_Article We have organized containers of donated medications and we hid them all in our cars because we figured they wouldn't like that. 😂😂

@Ruthat oh yeah! I know that feeling. Where I work, the techs and vet all make sure you know how to do things because it's inevitable they're gonna need help. I started as a kennel tech years ago, now I'm at the front desk, but I can still troubleshoot IV pumps, fix the in-house lab machines, hold for blood draws the way the techs like it, and give vaccines. 👍

@mims That's how I feel!!! We're severely understaffed and exhausted and we're like "would you miss it???" It's not like clients know what it means or that we really do anything differently. Giant waste of time and energy.

Today was our AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) inspection to see if we pass and get accredited again this year. I think it's every 5 years. What a stressful day of pretending we don't do certain things everyday that are frowned upon by the bureucrats. Like uncap needles in our mouths or keep snacks at our desks. 😂 But hey, we passed!

@amarand I bought them for myself. But I did snap it closed in triumph after I admired them. 😂

I'm a giant nerd and I love this so much and I'm gonna wear them all the time.
