@timholt2007 It's still a democracy, even if it's called a republic. A republic is a form of democracy. It's like trying to say a couger isn't a cat. It's still in the cat family.

@timholt2007 By all definitions North Korea is also a republic, and It means very little. People vote for a president there too, but they only have one single choice. It's practically meaningless to hang yourself on the word republic. It's practically a technicality.

The only reason republic gets thrown around in there is because the president is elected by the people which is the only thing that actually makes it a republic. America is still both a democracy and a republic. So saying it's one and the not the other isn't really true.

They didn't though.

I will be forever grateful they tried and tried until they found a way to reach me. It would have been easier for them to walk away. I was "toxic" and full of poison but that wasn't all of what or who I was. The hate and emotional charge was just a bubble wrapped around me.

I was still in there, just lost and angry and confused.

Every time I call my sister or my sister calls me, I have to hear my angry Dad barking in the background.

I don't know why she can't call me when he's not around, or go to another room, it isn't hard! Two feet and a heart beat and she'd be through a door! Maybe she's afraid I'll confront her if she's alone or something.
