@Resister_Grandma I wish my sister would text instead.

But my family still lives in the 1990s.

@RuthEd Where I am now, I have to keep it turned on in case there is a work emergency.

@wflbc And when we change the way we see ourselves, we change how see others.

@TwitterExpat Oh, there are soooo many stories. And every time I go home, so many more are added!

@Laredo2014 Thank you! Going home is going to be hard this year because of the division in the family. But I will try my best!

It seems like half of my CoSo posts are going to be ridiculous stories about my sister. Which is great, because she's not here to read them and complain! 😂

Now that's freedom!

We both got the beauty, but only I got the brains.

@MichaelTalon I wish I could, but my work day starts very soon!

@prettybones When life gets comfortable, do something uncomfortable. Sometimes, for better or worse, we need to change our comfort zones.

That's why I travel a lot. Crashing on couches of people has been a good portion of my life. I don't regret any of it, even when it's been tough.

Being comfortable kills our spirits.

My sister called, wakes me up, and says, "I haven't called in awhile, I wanted to call and say goodnight before you went to sleep."

SHE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND HOW TIMEZONES WORK! She's been an adult for years!!!

But now it's too late to go back to sleep. So I get up, shower, put on some social warpaint, and send my sister an inter-continental ballistic stare of death. I hope she steps on a LEGO.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Counter Social. I have to go to sleep for the night, it's late, but before I do I will share one more funny story about my sister.

One day, after I went home for a holiday (after being gone for half a year), she looked at me and said with a straight face, "You look like an older and homeless Aubrey Plaza."

What's funny about that, right?

Well. My sister looks just like me, because we're twins.

My sister once asked me if I read the "Karma Sutra".

I replied, "What goes around comes around, but not in the way you expect if that's how you read the title."

@PlanettePMary You better feed that cat.

According to that look, you might not live another day if you don't.

@FernLovebond This is so crazy.

It makes what happened even funnier.

Christmas is coming and I'm going home for Christmas in a few weeks.

So, I want to share a really fun story with you.

I have a tradition with my sister, where instead of buying each other the ugliest sweaters we can find.

We knit them.

Here's the funny part.

Neither of us can knit.

@Pixchips The current gun culture is incredibly scary. I didn't even feel safe with my own family in a house full of guns. It wasn't like that when I was growing up. I knew they were there, but they were rarely seen unless you were going shooting or hunting.

@TrueBloodNet I don't think ARs should be completely banned, but have really strict licensing where they can only be used on shooting ranges, and only after completing a comprehensive firearms course which needs to be repeated every couple of years to keep your holder's license.

I believe that is where many of us might find common ground.

To put my two, "recently ex-GOP" cents in about gun control:

I love guns, but they need to be respected. The problem isn't the gun, but the lack of respect people have for what guns are.

Growing up, my Dad had respect for guns, he taught me the same. Now, he carries them like they are toys, and it scares me because of what he taught me.

I used to be against gun control, but now I support it because of people like my Dad. People like him are losing touch with reality, they shouldn't have guns.
