@Alt_Human I DON'T support the GOP, I'm entirely against them currently. See, you were not listening one little bit.
@quinnsentialOne @Alt_Human If you don’t mind me jumping in.. you both have some points but what I think you are missing is that 1) the influence of the propaganda
2) the it is pretty difficult to actually “Do” anything with the filibuster intact and BOTH parties beholden to corporate lobbyists.
@Kelly_and_puppers @Alt_Human This has been the major center to many of the posts I've made here.
As someone who was a Republican, then MAGA, then ex-MAGA, then ex-Republican.
I know the power of the information bubble and the hold it has on Republican voters.
I try to explain to people how to reach out and break that bubble..... but I get accused of "defending Republicans" far too often.
I'm trying to point the way to a bridge and people are too stubborn to listen.
@Kelly_and_puppers @Alt_Human Yup.
And that mistrust is gonna be the death of us all.
@Kelly_and_puppers @Alt_Human That would be a lot better than what we have now.
And if they don't introduce bills or vote on at least half those proposals than they are banned from every running again. 😅
@quinnsentialOne Have you ever watched the series “United shades of America”? There are several episodes that speak to what you are talking about.
@Kelly_and_puppers I don't watch any much TV at all, so no.
@quinnsentialOne I think you would like it, and what he does going into different communities to just ask questions and get to know people. Look it up, some episodes are on Amazon & Apple TV, maybe YouTube
@Kelly_and_puppers I honestly believe if you get outside the propaganda bubbles, people are way way way more alike than they are different.
In the end, everyone wants home, comfort, family, friends, pets, and some fun hobbies.
We are all much more alike than we are different. The differences are existential. And people care far too much about the existential.
I'm tired of the existential.
@quinnsentialOne @Alt_Human It would be an interesting experiment to have a variety of politicians write down their proposals then without any names or party labels give those statements to people to read.
