1. FFS please let us remember that unless and until we get rid of the Electoral College, the US cannot have more than two parties. Fuck No Labels.
2. Comparative politics wisdom says France is prone to protest because their parties are weak. That is true, but you gotta admire the short fuse of political fucking up that leads to cars burning on the streets of Paris.

In Saint Joseph, MO, there have been two cases where women were arguing on sm that drag queen story hour was a way of grooming children. In two separate instances, women were outed on sm as being married to registered sex offenders. Midwestern small town, ladies and gentlemen.

The Christianist pastor organizing against the gay pastor on the Library Board has an active presence on Instagram where this is the tenor of the discussion between him and his followers regarding drag queen story hour. This is what we are up against.

The Council meeting ran three fucking hours long. Good news is they paused all board nominations and will revisit their process. Even better news: the queer-supporting side significantly more speakers. Horrible news: the Christianists told the Council they were put in power by God and that is who they are accountable to for protecting children. Now dinner and a drink because I am completely depleted.

Just letting y'all know that @junation and I have both said our things now and nobody has been arrested thus far. I did, however, wave around the coffee table book version of the Construction a lot, though. And said that of the Council had not paused board nominations, they would have committed viewpoint discrimination which SCOTUS declared unconstitutional. @junation straight up said the ones who purged books and library staff were the Nazis. Good stuff.

Meeting started w a *prayer* and then the Pledge. Rainbow wearing folks echoed ALL at the end of the Pledge - Mayor threatened to remove anyone who made noise. As in the cops would throw you out of the room. #Fascism

As I leave you, I have #Politics on the brain. I am rooting for #Ukraine , which means I am rooting for the mercenaries led by a slightly unstable former chef to a psycho dictator. All the while in my town the Christianists are plotting, so we are organizing and also tomorrow we are celebrating the tenth anniversary of some of us organizing the first Pride in town in a church parking lot. And I am logging my wheezing as per doc instructions. I am so tired, y'all...

In our town, there has been an effort by Christian nationalists to deny the opportunity to run for another term on the local Library Board to a local pastor, because he supports queer people. He is also married to a man, but they didn't come out and say that. Mayor kept it under wraps, didn't allow the side supporting the pastor to weigh in, then decided to remove said pastor from the ballot for the Library Board. ++
