If ANYONE AT ALL became aware that she'd had a meeting or even a conversation with a defendant whose case she's scheduled to try, that'd be cause for recusal, at least, right there. Slam dunk.

I absolutely cannot speak to what Lawrence is thinking but my assumption was Clarence the Hideous retiring may have been the unstated premiss.
He just wrote a fifty-page idiotic dissenting opinion in favor of racial gerrymandering. He's not tired, OR bored.
Trump's in no position to offer her a seat on the Supreme Court. There are so many moving parts involved, she'd be nuts to think that attractive.
