If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and '"they're"then your an idiot !!!

Backup time. If you think that’s a lot of stuff to attach at one time to a Mac laptop, think again. Once upon a time, I had 4 HDDs, an external display, an external DVD drive, charged an iPad with audio in & out connected to a 2011 MacBook Air via a Thunderbolt dock. That managed just fine.

Good soaking rain, it'll also be falling in the areas hit by bushfires. Those areas will benefit from it as there's no associated thunderstorm activity.

Pretty picture, right? Jink’s Creek Winery & Wood-Fired Pizza Emporium.

Well, it’s gone now. The bushfires have claimed it. The owner is reasonably sure the 2nd pic is of his house exploding.

The attached weather radar map does NOT show rain. Rather, it’s the smoke from dozens of small bushfires & grass fires to the east & southeast.

Smoke free to the north. Not so the the east & southeast. This pic takes face northeast.

2 km northeast of home, facing east. All main roads a further 8 km away are closed except for emergency services. Rail services suspended to the east. I’m NOT in the danger zone here but it’s getting quite nasty. Looks like I’m not going to make it to my mother’s place for the rest of the weekend as planned: no transport access.

Hurting today. Last weekend I walked about three km over two days with the arthritic knee protesting more than a little bit.

Today I probably managed about one km at a couple of fresh produce markets, now my hips are aggravated, extra problematical. I also had to use my folding cane.

Local temperature 28°C. Capital city CBD 24° & very wet. Change is coming!

Afflicted rather nastily by gout in my left big toe, I won’t be able to manage the beach today. I have found a shady spot overlooking the Surf Lifesaving club buildings, there’s a nice wooden bench, too. I have my Kindle & a bottle of iced water to keep me happy. Beside the bench is a hollowed wooden post, my water bottle fits perfectly.

Hiding from the higher inland temperature of home where it’s 39°C. Down here on the Bass Strait coast, it’s a delightful 26°C with a seas breeze. See pic: I’m at the blue dot. The green enclosure is NW Tasmania. The red circle is King Island. Past that it’s thousands of kilometres of ocean to cross to reach Antarctica.

Urk. Nasty weather today, hot & humid. Fortunately, I’ll be in one of those bayside suburbs in the afternoon. Currently 17ºC, going for 37ºC as a high.

I’ve worked out how to retain the cleaning brush for my battery-powered razor. Tied a knot in the power cord then added a dollop of Sugru, most effective.

1:15 pm, 39.3˚C, on the way to 42˚C.
Interesting temperature drop-off predicted between 3 pm & 4 pm, see attachment.

Proplem: there’s nowhere to tap.

And without a trackpad on my Mac, tapping is somewhat restricted.
