Many years ago I bought a 12South BookArc to hold my 2009 13-in MacBook Pro vertically with its cover closed & connected to an external display. I also used it with the 2011 MBP that died last year.
I have no need to use it with a Mac (not having one that fits it anyway) so now it sits in the kitchen as a rack to hold my Hario V60 filter papers. Holds 100 filters quite neatly.

I have two other Mac laptops designed for 10 hours of battery life but that was by using two 5-hour batteries, the extra one being in the multi-device bay. They are G3 "Pismo" models from 2001.

Wanted iMove on my Titanium G4 PowerBook. But the iLife 5 DVD kept being ejected by the unit's DVD ROM drive. So it's out with the heavy-hitter. A few years ago I was given a 5·25-inch external enclosure with a DL DVD burner installed. This has USB 2·0 & FireWire 400 connections.
