I don't think he is cognitively impaired, but there is a perception to the contrary thanks to the media and some Democrats. The debate did not help, but I didn't think he was that bad. I only listened to it, though.
@Charles_Hawtrey Most recently, that bout with COVID-19 may have drained energy and might have clinched a decision already in the works.
In the end, the timing (day and hour) of the decision was perfect. And he has almost 6 months to do things, perhaps with a better Congress starting in January.

@nealfig I watched it and listened, Trump just lied, lied and lied again, no one could have withstood that onslaught of lying, Joe got mad and lost it which was probably Dumald's aim. There's nothing wrong with Joe at all. Debating someone like Trump is a ludicrous idea, I wish Joe hadn't done it but done is done and I believe Harris will leave the moron in the dust.
