does the US even have any plan *at all* for the organised distribution and rollout of vaccines across all 50 states?

@naikarrah

who needs government plans when the drug companies are on the case?

In November, Pfizer selected New Mexico as one of four states to participate in a pilot delivery program for the vaccine, which it claims is more than 90 percent effective. Company representatives said the state was selected because of its combination of urban and rural areas, which can pose massive logistical problems in transporting the vaccine.

@naikarrah

The four states are:

Rhode Island, Texas, New Mexico, and Tennessee.

Chosen "after taking into account their differences in overall size, diversity of populations, immunization infrastructure, and need to reach individuals in varied urban and rural settings."

@XSGeek
there's still al manner of fuckery to get past first:
1. GOP already has plans in place to challenge the electoral college if they don't go rogue?
2. there are organised and disorganised groups/individuals calling for the Constitution to be suspended and Martial Law to be invoked without legal cause?

Proud Boys have planned a march/protest this coming week that could very well hand over the thinnest of excuses if *anything* goes awry.

@naikarrah

I gather the pre-1/20/21 plan is to put a handful of contestants in an arena with a bunch of bows and arrows and then vaccinate the sole survivor.

@naikarrah Kaiser Family Foundation researcher on BBC, perhaps, stated unequivocally, "No". Many states are talking about what it might look like, but the preliminary talking is not a plan.

@ACG2

so even though we have vaccines that can/will be available, the average US resident is completely screwed because the less than useless " WH corona virus task force" is essentially defunct beyond lining their own pockets and those of their favoured cronies & psychofan(t)s.

@naikarrah Yes. That sums it up. I was reading something about one of the repug. senators having over 2,400 trades in stock of companies which he had insider information on...GA Senator Perdue comes to mind. Headline in Paywalled Washington Post article.
