i too have a chainsaw
but use it as little as possible
maybe on a big log
to be cut into short pieces

i consider it noisy
and overeager to cut things
do not like inhaling fumes

used to use
my grandpa's double headed axe
to take trees down
you feel it in your hands
when it us ready to fall
before you hear it

my wrists began complaints
so i now use a hand saw

just as precise with control
perhaps better in tight spots
but have to listen for the
cracks when it starts to fall

if you have an interest
in encouraging ambidextrousness
thru playing piano music

a classical composer of note
is felix mendelssohn

in particular his collection
of piano works
songs without words

many compostions in this
collection move the melody
back and forth between
the left hand and right hand

one specific one called
duet
very obviously does this
and is such fun to play
to hear it happen

felix himself
must have been ambidextrous
to have this so prevalent
in many of his works

a while back
i read a post
from someone in metricland
that detailed their current temps
in celcius

celcius puts the temp
at which water freezes at 0
something handy to be aware of
particularly useful in winter

that fact bounced around
in my subconcious for a few days
and emerged when I woke
this morning in this form

i can change the settings
in my ipad to metric and
have this handy reference too

i have converted to metric
without having to drag
the whole country
along for the ride
