Every sci-fi show lately has see through communication devices. Are we really going to want people across the room to see what's on our screens in the future?
@kel I completely agree. I checked out the MS Hololens and it was amazing. But when I see these clear tablets, like on "The Expanse" it bugs me.
Plus, you'd probably put a case on it ...you know it's gonna fall and shatter. Did they fix that in the future, too?

We've always had a problem with properly envisioning the future in entertainment. There's also a production problem, isn't there? I mean, how do you convey that the devices of the future aren't actually there?
@michaelsfine AR is the future, imo. You put on a pair of glasses, and only you can see your 'screen'.
