just read online, so, SO true:

"If human intelligence caught up with artificial intelligence, I'd have more clients."

also one more reason to have , and not because "AI is coming", see mfioretti.substack.com/p/ubi-a

@feloneouscat @mfioretti Was anyone on the floor with her? I work in an office space where you can be on the 3rd floor and no one would know you're there because so many offices are now empty due to remote work. It's a tragedy all the way around.

@feloneouscat @ReneeVoiceBrand yes, that's the part that really depresses and infuriates me.

See my previous... hey, what are messages called here on ??? Not tweets, I assume?

@ReneeVoiceBrand I have no idea, but lots of people have all their relatives in a city different than the one they work in, so it's normal not to hear from each other for 3/4 days. Sad, but very normal.

It's the coworkers, janitor, security people etc... IN the building not noticing it that's inhumane

I'm never gonna answer a job offer from Wells Fargo as long as I'm alive.

which is exactly the point here.

13 years ago, , I published what may be one of the first comprehensive reports in Italy, if not internationally. I dare say most of the conclusions are still relevant:

Open Data, Open Society:

stop.zona-m.net/2011/09/part-2

@lifeinthePNW of course, it can have *significant* side effects. Like getting pregnant:

healthline.com/health-news/oze

but this time I was referring mainly to the inequality-enhancing effects, so to speak

Translation: the rich won't just look better, they'll live longer too

(yes, it's already so, but further progress in THAT direction only isn't something to really rejoy about)

This "let's put data centers in Space" thing made sense...

until it said "let's cool them with water taken (cheaply, for sure) MAAANY million miles away":

Bah

My new almanac service, because and memory matter A LOT.

That is, LOTS of interesting things today, from 1948 (1948!!!) to 2023:

(*) Like BoingBoing used to be, just with memory, but without ads and distractions.

@Cosmichomicide yes, please repost that story! That's VERY interesting

yes. The "We've found your JOB OF THE WEEK" messages are particularly insulting
