@Numerous_Piccolo_564 "Congresscritters"! I must remember that term!
@Numerous_Piccolo_564 I had actually wondered about this the last time I had an orange sherbet but never proceeded to do any research on it. Thank you for this tidbit of interesting info.
@freakinbox Not really. The restrictions were put in place to police a country that started a WORLD war they didn't have to start. If they would have behaved, and not started another WORLD war they didn't have to start, they could have negotiated fewer restrictions over time. You can't just look at the minutia, you also have to look at the middle and broad pictures.
@Numerous_Piccolo_564 I makes sense. During the Ice Age plants, in many areas, weren't available or there were minimal plants available to eat. Of course they'd turn to what was available...meat. Thank you for sharing the article.
@AmbyG05 This is so...wrong! All those anti-vaxxers yelling "My Body, My Choice" about vaccines and masks but they won't give that to women across the country that have are pregnant. This world has gone absolutely bat-sh*t crazy!
#fismansentme and I am slowly finding my way around. I was reluctant to leave the bird but feeling better about it now.
Trying to explain to my wife and friends who remember Twitter as an even more toxic place than it has been for the past couple of years why I felt disappointed to shut down my account there has been surprisingly difficult. Like, Musk will make it at least as toxic as they remember. It will become something between Gab and 8chan if users and advertisers don't stop it -- and I don't have confidence that they will. That is a shame for those of us who enjoyed its brief, better time.
@SpectorHairDay That's insane!
11 year old daughter asked about the holocaust today. Took a drive to our local bookstore in support of #IndependentBookstoreDay and grabbed #Maus and "They called us Enemy", just to round out the notion that it's not just Germans who do concentration camps. I'm thankful to live in CA where books aren't banned due to...*checks notes*...cartoon mouse nudity. If that's the reason you're banning this excellent book from school children - get fucked.
